The launch of the National Campaign for the prevention and reporting of child abuse and violence, including online, by promoting the free helpline for children - 116 111.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova together with the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau, in the framework of the project "Prevention and protection of children from violence, including in the digital environment in the Republic of Moldova", launched the National Campaign for the prevention and reporting of child abuse and violence, including online, by promoting the free helpline for children - 116 111.

Violence against children takes many forms and it happens in places, which should be safe havens for children: in the family, at school or in residential institutions, thus in the so-called "circle of trust", as well as in the digital environment. Therefore, it is important for children to have the means to communicate with adults about what is happening to them or others around them and to ask for help. The Child helpline serves as a mechanism that allows a safe space for children to voice their concerns and seek help, not only on violence.

The campaign aims to encourage children in particular, but also the general public to report cases of child abuse and violence. It will run from July to October this year. The messages of the campaign, including the video spot will be promoted on social networks, television, radio, public transportation and playgrounds of a network of restaurants in Chisinau and Balti.

The national campaign for the prevention and reporting of child abuse and violence, including online, by promoting the free helpline for children - Child helpline 116 111, was prepared and will be supported by the Council of Europe project on Preventing and protecting children from violence including in the digital environment in the Republic of Moldova in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
