Training on application of contravention fines for undeclared and under-declared work by labour inspectors

On 2 November 2023 an engaging and interactive training  on the application of contravention fines, specifically targeting undeclared and under-declared work, brought together 48 state labour inspectors from all regions of Moldova.

The training program combined theoretical knowledge with practical exercises to help labour inspectors effectively determine and apply fines for undeclared and under-declared work according to the Contravention Code of the Republic of Moldova.

During the training the labour inpsectors discussed the impact of undeclared and under-declared work on the labour market, economy, and workers' rights.  The discussions also focused on the strategies for identifying and addressing undeclared and under-declared work and the roles and responsibilities of labour inspectors in this respect.

The training on the application of contravention fines by the state labour inspectors is an integral part of the ongoing commitment to improving employment rights in the Republic of Moldova.

“This event is organized within the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova 2021-2024, and the project "Enhancing Employment Rights in the Republic of Moldova" which is co-funded by the Austrian Development Agency and the Council of Europe.”
