At their 1524^th meeting on 2 April, the Ministers’ Deputies discussed current political affairs.

They also began their preparation of the 134^th Session of the Committee of Ministers (Luxembourg, 13-14 May 2025) and held a first exchange of views on a comprehensive draft report, presented by the Chair, on the implementation of the Reykjavík Declaration. They approved a draft Council of Europe Strategy on the Environment, which will be transmitted to the Committee of Ministers for adoption at its Session, and took note of the Action Plan designed to coordinate the Council of Europe’s efforts around the Strategy’s implementation.

The Deputies approved the establishment of a Council of Europe Liaison Office with the United Nations in New York.

• Ms Despina Chatzivassiliou, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly, on the preparation of the 2^nd part of the 2025 Session (Strasbourg, 7-11 April 2025) and other Assembly activities [more information ...]; and
