At their meeting on 18 April, the Ministers' Deputies held their regular six-monthly review of the situation regarding the death penalty and took a series of decisions on this subject.
The Secretary General presented his consolidated report on the conflict in Georgia, which covers the period from October 2017 - March 2018. The Deputies then held a debate on this topic, with the participation of Mr David Zalkaliani, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
They also held exchanges of views with:
- Mr Wojciech Sawicki, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly, on the preparation of the 2nd part of the 2018 Session (Strasbourg, 23-27 April 2018) and other Assembly activities;
- Mr Andreas Kiefer, Secretary General of the Congress, on the 34th Plenary Session of the Congress (Strasbourg, 27-28 March 2018) and other Congress activities;
- Mr Mykola Gnatovskyy, President of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT), following his presentation of the 27th general report on the activities of the CPT in 2017.
