At the start of the meeting, the Chair expressed the Committee’s condolences and solidarity after the terrorist attack in Liège (Belgium) on 29 May 2018. The Deputies then observed a minute’s silence in memory of the victims.
The Deputies took a series of decisions on the follow-up to the 128th Session of the Committee of Ministers, which took place on 17-18 May in Elsinore (Denmark).
They also adopted a resolution on the implementation of the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities by Georgia.
Finally, the Deputies held exchange of views with:
- Mr Gianni Buquicchio, President of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission), following his presentation of the Venice Commission's annual report of activities for 2017;
- Mr Daniel Thelesklaf, Chairman of the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL), following his presentation of MONEYVAL's annual report for 2017;
- Mr Aleksander Čeferin, President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), on good governance in sports and action in the fields of anti-doping, the fight against match-fixing and violence at football stadiums.
