Back Meeting of the Ministers’ Deputies on 19 April 2023

At the beginning of their 1464th meeting, on 19 April, the Ministers’ Deputies marked the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
 
They authorised the establishment of a Register of Damage caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine under the form of an Enlarged Partial Agreement within the institutional framework of the Council of Europe. The Resolution establishing the Register of Damage and the related Statute of the Register will be adopted by the Deputies at a later date.
 
Following a presentation by Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić, the Deputies held an exchange of views on her 27th consolidated report on the conflict in Georgia, with the participation of Mr Lasha Darsalia, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia [more information …].
 
The Deputies also held an exchange of views with Ms Claire Bazy Malaurie, President of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission), and took note of the Commission’s annual report of activities for 2022.
 
In addition, they heard a communication from Ms Despina Chatzivassiliou-Tsovilis, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly, on the preparation of the 2nd part of the 2023 Session (Strasbourg, 24-28 April 2023) and other Assembly activities.
 
Finally, the Deputies took note of the 2022 annual report of the implementation of the Gender Equality Strategy 2018-2023.
