At their 1500^th meeting on 5 and 10 June 2024, the Ministers' Deputies continued their examination of the Secretary General's report on the human rights situation in the territories of Ukraine temporarily controlled or occupied by the Russian Federation and took a series of decisions in this respect.
 
In the context of their follow-up to the 133^rd Session of the Committee of Ministers (Strasbourg, 16-17 May 2024), the Deputies underlined the importance of pursuing the implementation of the Declaration adopted at the 4^th Summit of Heads of State and Government (Reykjavik, 16-17 May 2023) and, among other decisions, welcomed the Secretary General’s decision to appoint a Focal Point on the situation and return of Ukrainian children deported and forcibly transferred by the Russian Federation and invited her to take the necessary measures to pursue co-operation between the Council of Europe and the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.
 
The Deputies held an exchange of views with:

• Mr Miroslav Lajčák, EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues;
• Ms Claire Bazy Malaurie, President of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission). They also took note of the Venice Commission's annual report of activities for 2023.
