High-level event and 10th CDADI plenary take place in Paris on 26-28 November 2024

The Steering Committee on Anti-discrimination, Diversity, and Inclusion (CDADI) will hold its 10th plenary meeting in Paris from 27-28 November 2024.

On this occasion, a high-level event on Curbing Hate Speech and Hate Crime will be organised by the French authorities and the Council of Europe; it will take place on 26 November in the Arab World Institute. Organisations working in this field wanting to participate can contact the CDADI Secretariat over the contact form.

During the CDADI meeting, deliverables across the various work strands of the CDADI will be discussed and finalised. Among others, the following are on the agenda:

  • Adoption of the Feasibility Study on Desegregation and inclusion policies and practices in education for Roma and Traveller children;
  • Development of a Council of Europe Strategy for Roma and Traveller Inclusion 2026-2030;
  • Provision of guidance for finalising the Committee of Ministers Recommendation on Equality of Rights of Intersex Persons;
  • Provision of guidance for the Committee of Experts on Artificial Intelligence, Equality, and Discrimination (GEC/ADI-AI) on finetuning the draft Committee of Ministers Recommendation on Equality and Artificial Intelligence;
  • Presentation and discussion of the concept of intersectional discrimination with a view to developing a Feasibility Study on preventing and combating intersectional discrimination;
  • Provision of guidance for the working group on national minorities in preparing the Study on Recurrent problematic areas in regional or national minority language protection and identification of good practices in member states;
  • Discussion of forthcoming work of the CDADI working group on hate speech and hate crime;
  • Exchanges of views and work on the topics of equality mainstreaming and equality and the environment.

Additionally, the CDADI will hold an exchange of views with intersex persons and organisations working with intersex persons.

The committee will also elect a new Chair, Vice-Chair, and one Bureau member.
