4th workshop on good practices and case studies for police officers/staff in Romania

On 26 – 27 January 2017 the forth workshop (out of five) for 20 police officers/staff on international standards in pre-trial detention was organized in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Two international experts provided training based on training material previously developed within the same project that offered 20 police officers/staff a comprehensive overview of human rights standards and good practice applicable in their daily work. The workshop used interactive methodology and was based on case-studies and exercises that illustrated applicability of international human rights standards in local circumstances and situations familiar to the police officers.

The workshop was organized within the framework of the Pre-defined Project, “Strengthening the capacity of the pre-trial detention system to comply with the relevant international human rights instruments” financed under the Norway Grants Mechanism and implemented by the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, in partnership with the Council of Europe.

This project is implemented in partnership with the Council of Europe and with the financial support of the Norwegian financial mechanism 2009-2014. The content of the publication is however full responsibility the Council of Europe and under no circumstances may it be interpreted that it reflects the views of the Donor.
