As part of the ongoing efforts to enhance training methodologies and practices for prison staff, a Training of Trainers (ToT) was delivered from 18 to 22 November 2024 in Ankara. The training was aimed at equipping 25 experienced trainers from different prisons in Türkiye with the skills and tools required for delivering high-quality training sessions aligned with the Council of Europe standards and international best practices.

The Training covered 4 comprehensive modules on prisoner discipline and reward mechanisms, adult learning principles, effective communication strategies, innovative training methodologies, and the application of practical tools in the training process. This ToT is an important step in building a robust network of professional trainers who will subsequently deliver cascaded training sessions in various prisons across Türkiye. By equipping trainers with advanced skills, the sustainability and effectiveness of the dissemination of knowledge can be ensured even after the completion of the project.

This ToT was organised within the scope of the Project on "Enhancing the Disciplinary and Reward Procedures for Prisoners in Türkiye” co-funded by Norway, the Human Rights Trust Fund of the Council of Europe, Belgium, Türkiye, and the Netherlands.
