Following a request from the Court Police of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Council of Europe, in springtime 2021, to assist and support the increase of security level for the judicial function holders in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a pilot project was initiated and launched in Sarajevo under the auspices of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council on 11 October2021.
So far three working group sessions were organised in 2021, in Tuzla, Trebinje (photo) and Mostar, with the participation of four police practitioners from the Court Police of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and from the Republika Srpska, guided by two international consultants and CoE Secretariat members from Sarajevo and Strasbourg offices.
The objective of this project, which will continue in 2022, is to produce a policy document that will set the bases of the reinforcement of the security for the judicial officials such as prosecutors and judges, but also witnesses, all daily protected by the Court Police in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This project is funded by the bilateral co‑operation programme of the Council of Europe in the police field.
