A group of 12 investigators from the Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations and Professional Standards (DICCIPS) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, increased their knowledge on professional standards, police integrity and effective investigation into article 2 and 3 ECHR violations at a Train-of-Trainers (ToT) session, which took place in Ohrid on 25-29 September 2017.

The participants gained the necessary trainer’s skills and improved their presentation and communication capabilities. In this regard, they will further disseminate the knowledge to their DICCIPS peers under a set of cascade training sessions to take place in the course of November 2017. This approach will provide for sustainable in-service training within DICCIPS with a view for continuous strengthening of the capacities of its staff, thus enhancing the internal police investigative mechanism.

The ToT session was organised within the scope of the Action “Enhancing Human Rights Policing”, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe within the “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey” and implemented by the Council of Europe.
