The experts designated to represent the Conference of the Parties (COP) in the Committee of Experts on Criminal Asset Recovery (PC-RAC), Mr Ioannis Androulakis and Mr Paolo Costanzo, took part in two meetings held by the PC-RAC in May and September 2024. At these occasions, the experts shared the findings of the COP with the PC-RAC, including important interpretative issues in relation to the standards on confiscation of proceeds of crime, as provided in the Warsaw Convention (CETS 198). Relevant principles and good practices highlighted in the COP monitoring reports, its interpretative notes and comparative studies, were among the key points in determining the areas that future protocol would need to address. The COP representatives will continue their participation in the work of PC-RAC whose next meeting will take place on 14-16 October 2024.
