The Council of Europe, in close cooperation with the National School of Administration / Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA), organised the seminar “Prevention and fight against corruption” on 14-15 February 2023.
The seminar gathered 100 participants including ENA students and senior officials, as well as representatives of good governance units with the aim to further strengthen transparency in public administration.
Participants were, therefore, provided with the knowledge and skills on how to recognise the different forms that corruption can take, as well as its causes and consequences. The seminar addressed topics such as ethics as an approach to preventing corruption, prevention of conflict of interest, asset and interests declaration system, and reporting of corruption cases including the protection of whistleblowers.
Furthermore, the seminar provided a forum for participants to discuss issues of mutual interest, their experiences, challenges, and good practices in preventing and fighting corruption.
This activity falls within the framework of a cooperation agreement between the Council of Europe and ENA whose purpose is to develop activities which promote human rights, the rule of law and democracy. The activity is part of the basic training of the higher cycle of ENA aimed at training senior managers.
The seminar was organised in the framework of the Project to support independent bodies in Tunisia (PAII-T), which is co-financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the latter.
