Law enforcement officers in North Macedonia enhance visual intelligence analytics capabilities for economic crime investigation

The representatives of law enforcement agencies in North Macedonia, including the National Coordination Center, Financial Police, Ministry of Interior, Financial Intelligence Office, Customs Office, and Public Prosecutor’s Office, took part in a practical training on the application of the i2 Analyst’s Notebook software in Skopje on 12-15 June 2023.  The training was organized by the Action against economic crime in North Macedonia to enhance the law enforcement officers’ ability to identify vital intelligence and track criminal networks. Over the four-day training, the officers learned advanced techniques for data visualisation, entity extraction, and data integration, equipping them with the necessary skills to tackle complex criminal cases more effectively.

Furthermore, on 16 June, the Action organized a needs assessment meeting with representatives of the National Coordination Center within the Ministry of Interior to explore the opportunities to integrate and maximise the utilization of their data analytics software, to enhance information management and analytical capacities.

This activity was organised by Action against economic crime in North Macedonia, within the framework of the European Union/Council of Europe joint Programme Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye (Horizontal Facility III), co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
