The Steering Committee of the South Programme II took place in Tunisia in order to take stock of three years of cooperation between the Council of Europe and Tunisia in a broad range of areas, including the fight against corruption and economic crime. The results of CoE engagement in the framework of the South Neighborhood Anti-Corruption Project (SNAC 2) were presented and discussed. A number of important priorities were highlighted by participants to be taken into account in the context of preparations for the next phase of the South Programme, in particular the need to tackle the links between corruption, money laundering and terrorism, as well as the importance of engaging civil society in anti-corruption work.
