Description
The Monmouthshire, Brecon & Abergavenny Canals were fully open by 1799 to carry coal and iron to Newport. Fourteen Locks Canal Centre is located at the top of the flight of 14 locks rising 160 feet in just half a mile. It provides a base for visits and an interactive information point.
The Monmouthshire, Brecon & Abergavenny Canals Trust works to improve and sustainably restore the Monmouthshire, Brecon and Abergavenny Canals for the benefit of the local community. The Fourteen Locks are an Individual Site of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.
