Description
The site of the former Norsk-Hydro ASA company complex comprises hydroelectric power plants, transmission lines, factories, transport systems and residential quarters. The Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum documents the life of people who worked there, their everyday life and their trades union activities, and finally also the radical change caused by the closure of the works in 1971. The Museum is located in the Vemork Water Power Plant, which became the largest of its kind in the world when completed in 1911.
The Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum is an Anchor Point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.
