As part of the 2021 Euro-Mediterranean Dialogue on the Phoenician’s Route, a General Assembly took place on the 29 October.
The meeting counted the participation of Ms. Elena TANOU (President of the Phoenicians' Route), Mr. Antonio BARONE (Director of the Phoenicians' Route), Mr. Stefano DOMINIONI (EPA Executive Secretary and EICR Director), Mr. Elio STIFANIC (Deputy Mayor of Porec, Croatia), Ms. Emanuela PANKE (President of the Iter Vitis Route), Mr. Paolo PONZIO (Coordinator of the International Scientific Committee), as well as representatives of network members from Lebanon, Cyprus, Palestine, Greece, Albania, Croatia, Italy, Malta, Tunisia, France and Spain. Also participating were Representatives of national and transversal networks, as well as speakers on the 2021-2022 projects and activities of the Route.
The assembly is a chance for Representatives of the Route and other speakers to come together to present the achievements of the Route, the forthcoming projects and activities, the annual report and research undertaken, amongst other matters. The Phoenician’s Route is undergoing regular evaluation this year as part of the 2021-2022 evaluation cycle.
The Phoenician’s Route has developed and achieved an admirable list of goals and projects. The network currently counts 108 members in 11 countries. Alongside the Iter Vitis Route, they have also launched a new international award, aiming to support and reward projects that enhance cultural heritage and promote sustainable forms of tourism in the member countries of the two networks.
