The 9th edition of the Training Academy on Cultural Routes takes place in Fontainebleau (France) from 31 May to 3 June. The theme of the Training Academy 2022 is "Cultural Tourism”.

It is organised by the European Institute of Cultural Routes and "Impressionisms Routes", certified Cultural Route of the Council of Europe since 2018, in cooperation with the District of Seine-et-Marne and the Ministry of Culture of France.

The Fontainebleau region and its forest is a privileged site for Impressionisms Routes and the 9th edition of the Training Academy.

As the cradle of Impressionism, the region with exceptional landscapes just a stone's throw from Paris, a castle of the Kings of France and a residence of Napoleon, the painters of Barbizon and the surrounding sites (Moret-sur-Loing, Grez-sur-Loing, Samois-sur-Seine, Saint-Mammes....) is at the crossroads of nature, art and history.

The Impressionisms Routes are certified as „Cultural Route of the Council of Europe“ since 2018. This network brings together a wealth of major sites related to the 19th and 20th century Impressionist movement. Impressionisms Routes intend to facilitate access for all to artistic knowledge by developing cultural heritage and tourism activities in the the six member countries Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia and the Netherlands and with six thematic routes, that follow the steps of an artist or a group of painters.

Despite being an invitation-only event, the proceedings of the workshops will be shared on the website after the event.
