In the framework of the Faro Convention Action Plan, the Council of Europe organised a Preparatory Meeting for the Faro Convention Network in France, that took place on 10 May 2023 in Council of Europe Office in Paris. The meeting gathered 10 representatives of different cultural heritage initiatives and communities from different regions in France that already apply the Faro Convention Principles in their activities and projects.

The meeting provided a space for presenting diverse heritage projects, exchanging ideas and experiences, as well as proposals to advance the collaboration and create stronger synergies. Participants expressed their willingness to actively engage in joint initiatives in the framework of the 2024-2025 Action Plan agreed upon during the meeting.

The Faro Convention Network in France, as part of a bigger European Network, is one in a series of similar initiatives in Serbia, Italy and Spain, which confirm the citizens’ will to actively engage in democratic participation and management of their cultural heritage.
