European Heritage Days is pleased to present a new Toolkit for Cross-Border and Local Heritage Events, developed to support the organisation of engaging public events during the European Heritage Days. Created through a transnational collaboration between National Coordinators in Finland, Norway, and Poland, and funded by the European Heritage Days – a joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Union – this toolkit draws on the rich experiences of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and heritage networks across the continent. It offers practical ideas and inspiration for sites and communities to plan events that highlight Europe’s diverse cultural and architectural heritage. With a special focus on cross-border cooperation, the toolkit encourages cultural routes, European Heritage Label sites, and other heritage initiatives to come together and celebrate shared values through joint activities. The 2025 theme, Architectural Heritage, is supported by free social media templates included in the toolkit, enabling wide participation and visibility. Available in English, Finnish, Norwegian, and Polish, the toolkit can be accessed on the Council of Europe’s European Heritage Days platform and partner websites. Discover the toolkit and start planning your contribution to this year’s European Heritage Days.
