The 7th International Cybercrime Workshop which took place in Antalya, Turkiye on 5-9 December 2022 brought together around 300 cybercrime investigators, prosecutors and digital forensics experts from Turkiye and from across the globe, with partners from domestic and international organisations, cybersecurity community, private industry and academia, aiming to strengthen cooperation on cybercrime and to share information and good practices related to cybercrime cases, in order to follow up latest trends.
The iPROCEEDS-2 project contributed to this conference with latest views and developments on 24/7 Network of contact points, international and public/private cooperation under the provisions of the Cybercrime Convention and the Second Additional Protocol.
Speakers from INTERPOL, National Police of Japan, Australian Federal Police, US Federal Bureau of Investigation, Meta, TikTok, Binance and Oxygen Forensics introduced the participants from 10 countries, including not only project countries/areas such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, but also other Eastern Europe countries, such as Azerbadjan, to the their recent cases, tools and operations, providing examples of successful cooperation and joint initiatives.
The iPROCEEDS-2 project will continue not only to support countries from South Eastern Europe and Türkiye in engaging in more efficient international and judicial cooperation and information sharing between cybercrime units, financial investigation units and financial intelligence units (FIUs) as well as between competent authorities, but also to support existing public/private initiatives at domestic level with a focus on cooperation between service providers and criminal justice authorities.
