On the 2nd of August, at the 2nd Cyber Affairs Summit Conference Patrick Penninckx, Head of the Information Society Department of the Council of Europe addressed more than 1000 participants from public and private sectors. Hosted by the Ministry of National Security of Argentina, the summit covered a large array of topics ranging from prevention, investigation and resilience to cyber-diplomacy and international cooperation. The event served as an opportunity to present the work of the Council of Europe in the field of cybercrime, data protection and artificial intelligence. Importance of cooperation mechanisms under the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime was broadly recognized, as well as regional efforts in this regard.
During his visit to Argentina, Mr Penninckx also had several bilateral meetings with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of National Security of Argentina.
