Council of Europe at the European Dialogue on Internet Governance 2024 in Vilnius

The Council of Europe will participate in the 2024 edition of the European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG), which brings together representatives of governments, international organisations, business, civil society, academia and the technical community to discuss in internet-related public policy issues.

On 18 June, the CyberEast+ project, a joint venture of the Council of Europe and of the European Union, implemented by the Cybercrime Programme Office (C-PROC), will support the participation of 14 law enforcement and civil society actors from the Eastern Partnership region to a workshop on The role of cooperation in enhancing cyber resilience in Europe. The discussions will explore cyber resilience, including matters related to cybersecurity and action against cybercrime in the context of human rights safeguards, with a focus on civil society oversight on criminal justice in cyberspace.

On 19 June, the Council of Europe´s Secretary General, Marija Pejčinović Burić, will deliver a keynote address on AI and human rights. The Council of Europe´s delegation is co-organising a number of events, placing the focus on the impact of the metaverse on human rights, new cybercrime challenges, how to tackle disinformation, frameworks to foster online safety, data protection, and the recently adopted Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence.

The event will take place side by side as a hybrid meeting from 17 to 19 June.
