CyberEast: First Responder Training on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence for Armenian Investigators

From 7 to 10 February 2023, police officers and investigators from the Republic of Armenia attended the First Responder Training on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence, in Yerevan.  This training was organised at the premises of the National Justice Academy by the National Police and the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia with the support of CyberEast, a joint project of the European Union and of the Council of Europe.

Training materials, which were developed by the Council of Europe, focused on key topics relating to cybercrime and electronic evidence, as well as standards and policies for the detection and prevention of online child sexual exploitation and abuse (OCSEA), in line with the Convention on Cybercrime (Budapest Convention) and the Lanzarote Convention. The training provided opportunities not only to gain skills and knowledge in investigative practices concerning electronic evidence, but also to ensure the transfer of knowledge to national partners and trainers for national implementation of this course.

A series of First Responder and Intermediate-level Trainings on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence will be held in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine in spring 2023, in view of increasing skills and knowledge on this topic in the Eastern Partnership Region.
