CyberEast : The Republic of Moldova and Ukraine sign the Second Additional Protocol to the Budapest Convention

On 30 November 2022, during the 27th Plenary Meeting of the Cybercrime Convention Committee (T-CY),  Daniela CUJBA, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the Council of Europe and Borys TARASYUK, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe signed the Second Additional Protocol to the Convention on Cybercrime on Enhanced Co-operation and Disclosure of Electronic Evidence.

The Second Additional Protocol was prepared by the Cybercrime Convention Committee (T-CY) between September 2017 and May 2021. In May 2022 it was opened for signature.

The signature of the Second Additional Protocol marks an important milestone for these countries toward improving international cooperation on cybercrime and electronic evidence. It also opens further opportunities for capacity building in support of the implementation of the tools of this new treaty.  The joint European Union and the Council of Europe CyberEast project is available to assist Moldova and Ukraine in this respect.
