CyberEast+: Ukrainian law enforcement representatives benefited from the Specialised Course on Network and Malware Investigations

The National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, in partnership with CyberEast+, a joint endeavour of the European Union and of the Council of Europe, organised a Specialised Course on Network and Malware Investigations between 14 and 16 April 2025 in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Representatives of the State Security Service, the Cyber Police , the State Bureau of Investigation and the Prosecutor General’s Office, dealing with the collection and analysis of electronic evidence in criminal proceedings, actively participated in this course.

The training course provided Ukrainian authorities with an updated understanding of computer network analysis, threats, vulnerabilities and malware. Participants engaged in a comprehensive exercise simulating a full cyberattack lifecycle. This included an in-depth analysis, threat identification, mitigation strategies, database protection and data restoration procedures that will help in strengthening their response to such cyberattacks.

CyberEast+ will continue to reinforce capacities of criminal justice authorities from Ukraine through sustainable training frameworks, like specialised trainings and practical exercises.
