CyberSouth and Algeria: Judicial training on e-evidence and international co-operation

The joint European Union – Council of Europe CyberSouth project, together with the Algerian Ministry of Justice, organised two judicial training courses for judges and prosecutors in Algiers, Algeria from 2-6 October 2022.

The courses aimed at strengthening the knowledge and skills of criminal justice professionals to handle, use and present electronic evidence as well as to request and provide information on cybercrime and electronic evidence in relation to transnational cases.

The activity concluded the cycle of specialised training modules for the judiciary and will be followed by the establishment of a national pool of experts that will be involved in future educational activities on cybercrime, delivered by national training institutions.

The Algerian Higher School of Magistracy is currently reviewing the educational programme for the new magistrates and the CyberSouth project will support the revision of the curriculum and related material on cybercrime.
