CyberSouth+: enhancing judicial capacities on cybercrime and electronic evidence

The joint European Union and Council of Europe action on cybercrime CyberSouth+  supported the Judicial Institute of Jordan in delivering a four-day training course on cybercrime and electronic evidence to 25 magistrates.

The course offered participants knowledge on technology and its impact on crime, procedures for investigating cybercrime and collecting e-evidence, and avenues for international cooperation, including through the tools and channels offered by the Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime.

On the occasion of closing of the training activity, the general director of the Jordanian Judicial Institute, emphasised the need for continuous education of magistrates on cybercrime and electronic evidence and the valuable support offered through the CyberSouth+ project.

The next activity supported by the CyberSouth+ project will be dedicated to law enforcement representatives to ensure that the entire criminal justice system possess updated knowledge and skills to effectively address cybercrime.
