On 16 March 2022, the CyberSouth project organised the last activity from the series of workshops on the development of a domestic toolkit for first responders to cybercrime investigations for the Tunisian stakeholders.
In the given international context, strengthening of criminal justice capacities to fight cybercrime is more relevant than ever.
The purpose of the workshop was to strengthen the capacities and skills of Tunisian law enforcement officials as first responders when dealing with cybercrime investigations. In this sense, participants were familiarised with the Guide for first responders to cybercrime investigations, which focuses on the specificities of cybercrime offences and provides an outline of the preliminary steps required to conduct initial cybercrime investigations.
The representatives of the Ministry of Interior and National Agency for IT Security provided an overview of their reporting mechanism and competences of their law enforcement officers in this area.
Further support will be offered by the CyberSouth project for the development of a national guide for first responders if such a guide will be considered useful by the Tunisian authorities.
