Under the framework of the GLACY+ Project, around 30 petty officers of the Gendarmerie of Senegal benefited from a First Responders Training of Trainers which was conducted from 20 to 24 June. The training was organized in cooperation with the Gendarmerie of Senegal and with the assistance of the French Gendarmerie.
The training focused on equipping petty officers with the knowledge and skills on handling cybercrime-related scenes or crime scenes containing electronic evidence whose integrity must be preserved. The course also contributed to the creation of a network of trainers able to train their peers on how to properly respond to cybercrime scenarios and handle electronic evidence in their work.
This activity is the latest in a series to facilitate the integration of the first responders’ course on cybercrime and digital investigation into the curriculum of the École des Officiers de la Gendarmerie Nationale (EOGN) from Senegal.
Similar training for gendarmerie forces from other French-speaking African countries will be organized in Senegal from 27 June to 1 July 2022.
