Mr Horest AU YEUNG was seconded to INTERPOL in September 2023 and assumed the post of Coordinator of ASP Desk, Cybercrime Directorate.
Before his secondment, he served as the Chief Inspector of Police of the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF). Throughout his 14-year service in HKPF, Horest has served in various frontline operational units and criminal investigation-related duties. In 2015, Horest joined the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB), where he served in the Operations Team, the Training Team and the Cyber Intelligence Unit. Upon his promotion to Chief Inspector in 2020, Horest became one of the section heads of the Cyber Intelligence Unit and later served as the Head of Digital Forensics.
During his career, Horest was the course trainer for various INTERPOL Cyber Crime-related training workshops held in Hong Kong, Fiji and Singapore between 2016 and 2018. In May 2019, he attended the 9th Cybercrime Directors Workshop held in Singapore. He also represented the Hong Kong Police Force during the Operation HAECHI conclusion meeting in 2021. In Nov 2023, Horest represented INTERPOL to present in the 6th ASEAN Plus Three Cybercrime Conference and Cyber Intelligence Asia.
Horest graduated from The University of Hong Kong in 2009 with a major in Computer Science. He completed his Master’s Programme in Computer Science in 2020.
