Given the continued interest of Malaysia in the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime, the Council of Europe – through the Octopus Project – contributed to a round table on the compatibility of the Malaysian law with this Convention.
Organised by the National Cyber Security Agency of Malaysia (NACSA), the meeting permitted experts of the Cybercrime Convention Committee to clarify questions raised by Malaysian authorities and service providers.
Participants concluded that, with few exceptions, the current domestic legal framework is broadly in line with this treaty.
