On 7 March 2022, GLACY+ and the Octopus projects together with the Parliamentarians for Global Action and Parliamentarians for Global Action Argentina National Group organised the last webinar of a series of four thematic webinars to promote the universality and implementation of the Budapest Convention and its Protocol(s) to ensure an effective and coordinated approach to tackle cybercrime.
In the given context, promoting the international legal standards on cybercrime and e-evidence legislation is more important than ever.
This webinar was dedicated to the Latin American region providing parliamentarians and policy makers with a platform for identifying effective approaches to countering cybercrime and for making use of the opportunities offered by the Budapest Convention and capacity building support offered by the Council of Europe.
Participants from Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Paraguay became more familiar with the main attributes of the Budapest Convention as the most relevant international treaty on cybercrime and e-evidence.
