Southeast Europe Police Chiefs Association General Assembly agreed on future operational cooperation in the region

Southeast Europe Police Chiefs Association (SEPCA) General Assembly, a flagship event for the law enforcement representatives in Southeast Europe and beyond, took place this year in Bucharest, Romania, on 12-14 December, celebrating the progress made under SEPCA Romanian presidency.

The event reunited high officials from law enforcement of the South Eastern Europe and international organisations, such as the Council of Europe, CEPOL, INTERPOL and SELEC, who discussed the milestones achieved during the Romanian presidency and analysed, at the same time, the capacity building opportunities, the joint training projects in the region and the possibilities for future operational cooperation. The assembly ended with the handover ceremony of the SEPCA Presidency to Republic of Srpska and the presentation of the priorities of the incoming Presidency.

The representative of the Cybercrime Programme Office (C-PROC) presented the relevance of electronic evidence in the current international context, capitalising as well on the capacity building support actions provided in the region through the iPROCEEDS-2 project. Representatives from project countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia or Serbia were part in the event and contributed with valuable feedback.

The iPROCEEDS-2 project will continue to offer capacity building support for developing skills for cooperation on cybercrime and electronic evidence for judicial and police cooperation authorities with service providers in South Eastern Europe and Türkiye.
