The US State Department and the Council of Europe have signed a new funding agreement through which the USA is contributing with further US$ 500,000 to the project Cybercrime@Octopus to support implementation of the Budapest Convention worldwide. The USA is a Party to this treaty since 2006. The new contribution was announced during a meeting of Ms. Jamie D. McCourt, US Ambassador to France, with Ms. Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, on 25 September.
