CyberSouth: Judicial material mainstreaming, second meeting of the working group in Lebanon

The second meeting of integration of the cybercrime and electronic evidence judicial training materials took place, online, during 4-5 March 2021. This activity was a follow-up for the first meeting of the working group in charge with the course’s development, which was implemented during 3-4 August and 16 September 2020.

During the first day, the members of the Lebanese working group introduced the content of the basic course and sought inputs and suggestions from the Council of Europe on its further improvement and implementation. The international consultant’s recommendations were discussed in depth and the participants agreed to complete the final version within the next two weeks.

The second day was focusing on the development of the advanced module of the domestic judicial training course, including its structure and components. The members of the Lebanese working group contributed and shared ideas concerning the case studies and topics to be further considered and agreed upon its development over the next three months.

The CyberSouth project will continue to support the mainstreaming of the judicial training material on cybercrime and e-evidence by providing further recommendations and organise follow up meetings and training sessions. This will eventually lead to the reinforcement of the capabilities of the Lebanese magistrates and build up a national pool of experts in this area.
