On 19 and 20 April the GLACY+ project, a joint initiative of the European Union and Council of Europe in cooperation with the Data Protection Unit of the Council of Europe and Public Ministry of Chile organized an awareness workshop for the Chilean prosecutors aiming to support the harmonization of the country’s domestic legislation on data protection and privacy with the international standards in the field, Convention 108+ and the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime.
As part of the ongoing support of the legislative process on data protection in Chile, a comparative analysis of the Chilean draft law in and the Convention 108+ was provided for the use of the Public Ministry.
GLACY+ will continue supporting Chile in developing and bringing their legislative framework in line with international standards in the field, further strengthening the capacity on cybercrime and data protection and increasing the trust in a safer and more reliable use of the internet and the services that it facilitates.
