The Council of Europe was invited by the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE) to its Annual Meeting hosted by the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington DC, United States of America, in collaboration with the US Department of State.
The Council of Europe was represented by the GLACY Project Manager, Mr Manuel de Almeida Pereira, who made a joint presentation in a breakout session with the representative of the European Commission, Ms. Panagiota-Naiya Barmpaliou, on the current GLACY and upcoming GLACY+ Projects through the respective methodology for capacity building and lessons learnt.
The main objectives of the meeting were to update participants on the existing initiatives to further concretize the global effort to build cyber capacity. Results and best practices were shared from all corners of the world on topics ranging from cybersecurity threats to cybercrime assessments, from critical infrastructure protection to internet standards.
Perspectives on GLACY, its new members and insights gained over the past year were shared, as well as the vision on the future of the GFCE.
