European Institute for Gender Equality publishes in-depth report into ‘cyberviolence against women and girls’ phenomenon

Evidence continues to show that women and girls are more exposed to types of cyberviolence than men. It is often dismissed as insignificant as it relates ‘only’ to the virtual world. However, online violence often leaks into the victim’s physical world, resulting in serious physical, sexual, psychological or economic harm and suffering.

In its report, the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) provides an in-depth investigation into the phenomenon of cyber violence and how it affects women and girls specifically.
