The Bureau of Committee of Convention 108 held its 63rd meeting on 19-20 March 2025 in Paris. It welcomed that Greece (5 March 2025) and Monaco (6 March 2025) deposited their instruments of ratification of the amending Protocol CETS No 223 and encouraged all Parties to finalise their ratification procedures as soon as possible. It also discussed the issue of transborder data flows and how the Model Contractual Clauses adopted by the Committee last year can help facilitate data transfers. It warmly congratulated the Swiss DPA for approving them thus allowing for their domestic use.
The Bureau carried on with its standard setting activities too with regard to the draft Guidelines on Article 11, draft Guidelines on data protection in the context of neuroscience and a possible normative document on data protection in LLMs.
