The Committee of Convention 108 brings together the 53 countries that have committed to respect and implement the principles of the Convention. The Committee also includes numerous observer representing countries, data protection authorities of countries which are not members of the Convention, international organisations and non-governmental organisations. In total, nearly 70 countries participate in the work of the Committee, which meets in plenary session twice a year in Strasbourg. The Committee thus offers a unique forum of exchange and cooperation, with data protection at its core. The Committee for instance currently works on data protection and artificial intelligence and on the protection of health-related data, and many other topics are on its agenda too.
