Today, 28 January, Data Protection Day, Ambassador Mr Dastid KORESHI, Permanent Representative of Albania to the Council of Europe, signed the Amending Protocol to the Convention for the protection of individuals in respect of automatic data processing (STCE n°233) in the presence the Deputy Secretary General, Mr Bjørn Berge. 

Albania became Party to Convention 108 on June 2005 and has now taken an important step towards the ratification of its modernised version, Convention 108+.
