Every two years, the Council of Europe co-organises a Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport. This year, on 16 October, Georgia hosted the 15th conference of this type, with its Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport as co-organiser.
The conference was held in Tbilisi and focused on two main themes:
-
Protecting human rights in sport: obligations and shared responsibilities
-
Fighting corruption in sport: scaling up action
Ministers of Sport representing states parties to the European Cultural Convention and EPAS member states attended the conference, along with high-level representatives from the sports movement.
The conference was preceded on 15 October by a meeting of the Senior Officials from all participating states, during which the draft Resolutions on the two topics were finalised.
Registered delegations can still consult and download the working and background documents via the “documents” section of the Conference website.
