Back Belgium ratifies the Macolin Convention

Belgium ratifies the Macolin Convention

The instrument of ratification by Belgium of the Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions (CETS No. 215), also known as the Macolin Convention was registered this day, 1 July 2024, by the Treaty office of the Council of Europe.

Belgium thus becomes the 10th State Party to the Macolin Convention. The Macolin Convention shall enter into force in respect of Belgium on 1 November 2024.

This 10th ratification marks a turning point in the recognition of this unique international instrument to combat the manipulation of sports competitions, including among European Union member states
