Many posters concerning the Council of Europe have been published to mark anniversaries, conferences, campaigns and other events, thereby helping to raise the Organisation’s profile.
Central Archives started putting together a collection of Council of Europe posters in 2005, following the poster exhibition held to mark the 50th anniversary of the European Cultural Convention.
The collection includes posters on themes covering almost all the organisation’s areas of activity:
- Human rights,
- Justice,
- Art exhibitions,
- Cultural and natural heritage, environmental protection,
- Education,
- Citizenship,
- Human resources management, etc.
The printed posters have been digitised and the entire collection is now available online for staff members and the general public using WebCAT, the online catalogue of DIT’s Central Archives, which provides detailed records.
