Presentation of Joint Georgian-Abkhazian Publications

The official presentation of 4 joint Georgian-Abkhazian publications and 4 feature documentaries took place in Tbilisi on 22 June. This included the outcomes of Council of Europe Project “Archive Management” (2015-2023), which has been carried out in the framework of the Council of Europe Confidence Building Measures Programme, with the direct support of the Office of State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civil Equality and active involvement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani, delivered the welcome address. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia,  Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, and First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia and Chairman of the Interim Commission on De-Occupation Issues Giorgi Volski also addressed the audience, as well as the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia, Natalia Voutova.

The publications and films, as listed below, were presented in the presence of Ms Anna Capello, Head of Division at the Directorate of Political Affairs and External Relations of the Council of Europe; Ms Tamar Kochoradze, responsible for the aforesaid project and Head of Department of Policy Analysis, Planning and International Relations, Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and Mr  Badri Cherkezishvili, Director of the Archive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

The event gathered members of the Parliament and Government of Georgia, representatives of diplomatic missions and international organisations, as well as civil society and academia.
