EduTalks@Council of Europe- Migrancy, refugees and citizenship representations in video games

The current discourses around border control, the limitation to migration and the rejection of the otherness in many European countries are very delicate and important topics which not only gather a  lot of attention in the media discourse but are also largely represented in one of the most relevant and influential entertaining media: video games.

Video games can become a medium through which digital citizens can approach ethical reflection about the topic, can shape their own critical thinking and can learn about the escape and resettlement of refugees and their personal stories.

This EduTalk, made possible by the work of the Video Game Culture Working Group from Council of Europe’s Digital Citizenship Education project (https://www.coe.int/en/web/digital-citizenship-education/videogame-culture) will explore different perspectives related to migrancy, refugees and citizenship representation in video games.

Join us on Zoom for EduTalks@Council of Europe on Wednesday 20 June at 14.00 CET to join a fruitful panel among our speakers.
