A dedicated workshop to present the Council of Europe’s Education Department online learning platform LEMON (Learning Modules Online) was held as an official part of the programme of the Forum on the present and future of citizenship and human rights education in Europe that was held in Turin, Italy from 11-13 April 2022 organised under the Italian Presidency of the Committee of Ministers. The participants were introduced to the latest courses on Education as a Human Right, The Key to using Social media as an educational tool for democracy and were given a sneak peek at the course on the Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture which will be available on the platform shortly. The feedback allowed to conclude that the new courses are indeed innovative and correspond to the latest expectation of learners, practitioners and developers.
The Forum that aimed at strengthening the quality, recognition and outreach of young people’s education in the fields of democratic citizenship and human rights was organised under the Italian Presidency of the Committee of Ministers by the Education and Youth Departments of the Council of Europe and the Italian Government, in cooperation with Amnesty International, the City of Turin, the National Youth Council of Italy and the European Youth Forum also provided an excellent networking opportunity and showcase platform for Education Department’s work in general and for the LEMON team, in particular.
